How to Apply for RCIP Program Opens in Pictou County?

The Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) is intended to assist skilled individuals who aspire to reside and operate in rural regions of Canada in obtaining permanent residency. Foreign workers are afforded the opportunity to contribute to rural economic development and support their employers through this employer-driven immigration pathway.

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

Process of Selection of Recommendations
Applications that satisfy the eligibility requirements will be incorporated into a cohort. Pictou County Partnership will select the highest-ranking candidates from the cohort at the conclusion of each scheduled intake period.

In 2025, a maximum of 10 recommendations will be issued per month until the yearly quotas are met.

Selections are determined by a scoring grid that evaluates qualifications and other critical factors.

Step 3: Submit Your Permanent Residence Application

If you are recommended by the Pictou County community, you may subsequently submit an application for permanent residence through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) under the RCIP stream.

Step 4: Monitor Your Application

After submitting your PR application, it is important to monitor its progress by periodically reviewing the status of your application. Be prepared to respond to any IRCC requests that may arise during the processing process.
